What Is A Host Controller

Over the last week I have been configuring a semi-recent Dell PC for use with audio recording. I have a Lexicon Omega audio interface that connects to the PC via USB, so I went into the Dell's Device Manager to scope out the USB situtation. This PC looks like so:
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
USB Root Hub (top two rear USB ports, bottom front single USB port)
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
USB Root Hub (bottom two rear USB ports, top front single USB port)
For audio in/out, I know that having dedicated USB controller for that task alone is preferable to having many USB devices connected and sharing the resources. I just bought a USB 7-port hub, so I can connect the mouse, keyboard, and so on to one port going to one USB Root Hub, while I use the Lexicon Omega attached to a port associated with the other USB Root Hub.
The question is, what is the difference between the two controllers listed above the two USB Root Hubs, and which one would best handle the audio in/out for recording and playback use?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
