Apr 24, 2012  LMS Service cannot connect to Intel(R) MEI driver I recently purchased a Gateway NV5924u brand new notebook. I keep getting LMS Service cannot connect to Intel(R) MEI driver ever since I booted up my new notebook.

Jun 08, 2012  I updated the drivers for the Intel chipset, but it keeps occurring. The next recommended step was to remove LMS.exe from its current location and download/import a copy of LMS.exe. Does anyone know how to download it or where to get it from? Both Local Manageability Service (LMS) service and Host Embedded Controller Interface (HECI) driver are from Intel. Now HECI driver is called Management Execution Engine (MEI) driver. Thinkpad W510, running WINDOWS 7, 64 bit and with SSD. Everything seems to work well, latest patches and updates (from Lenovo and Intel) provided, but the Application Event Viewer is filling up with the message 'LMS lost connection to Intel(R) MEI driver' (sometimes over a dozen per second!). The Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is a driver required on certain Intel based system. It is used, among other functions, to improve communication with the BIOS.

I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Intel chipset drivers and Intel Matrix Storage Manager from the Manufacturer.

You may run Intel Driver Update Utility and check.

If the utility did not find the drivers, please try to download the drivers manually from the following link:
